An annual event hosted in the remote village of Bloody Bay to highlight the indigenous staple root tuber - dasheen. This root tuber type of dasheen turns blue when cooked, hence the name of the festival. October 20th 2024

A vibrant and culturally rich event which takes place annually on both island on the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. All of the beautiful masqueraders celebrating and enjoying oneself with friends and family in the streets and on stage. We have our notable Calypso Monarch competition where the best of the best comes to perform and share stories of the population concerns or current political picong. Alongside the competition we have our National instrument the Steelpan taking stage with both young and old players competing in our Panorama Competition to win the Grand prizes of Monarch of Calypso and Panorama Steelpan Orchestra of the Year!!
Following the end of the Lenten season – we welcome the Easter celebration from the Christian holidays. The island celebrates this holiday with many visitors locally and internationally, all coming to see the Goat and Crab Races, events unique to Tobago. It’s held in the village of Buccoo, which was started in 1925 by the late Samuel Callender. This race was considered the poor man’s equivalent to the horse races. This event showcases goats who have jockeys who train for the months prior to the races in Easter- the races are run on 100 yard (300 feet) grass field
Tobago Heritage Festival, first staged in 1987 which became an annual celebration of the dance, songs, music and cuisine of Tobago. These are showcase during the entire month of July, where Villages participate to continue preserving our unique cultural heritage by highlighting various activities unique to the Village, for example, Moriah Ole Time Wedding. This festival is considered one of the main events on the Tobago Calendar of events.
